Writing Your Life Story

“Your life is important. It is as unique as your fingerprints. It is a precious piece of time that should not be forgotten. There has only been one life lived like yours in all time and only you can leave an accurate account of it.” -Frank Thomas, author

Have you thought about writing your life story or a piece of your life that was important or life changing? Do you have a story to tell? Do you want to share your growing up years with your children or grandchildren so they better understand who you are and who they are? Have you thought about writing your story, but don’t know where or how to get started?

Writing is a challenging mental activity, and research shows that challenging yourself mentally improves your mental agility and stamina. It even develops brain cells.

This nine-week course will give you the tips and tools to write Your Life Story in manageable “bites”.

• No prior writing experience is necessary. Honest!
• There is a reading and writing assignment each week.
• You are not required to read your writing in class, but it is the stories of others that spark our memories.
• The textbook gives organizational tips, writing pointers and memory sparkers to get you started and keep you writing.
• There is a one-time cost of $35.00 for the book.
• Canyon Vistas has several published authors as a result of this class.

Classes meet on Monday afternoons 1:00 to 3:00 in Portals III, beginning January 6th. Register for the class on the poster/clipboard in Portals I.
